The sculpture supporting the basin is inspired by a work by Jean-Jacques Feuchère. Its sculpted ornamentation is particularly elaborate. On a hexagonal base covered in moss due to humidity stand three kneeling tritons on their two-parted fish tails, wrapping themselves around that of their neighbor. Seaweed makes the transition between the lower body, that of a fish, and the upper body, feminine. The three tritons, their heads tilted to the side, crowned with leaves and fruits, are as many caryatids: they carry the basin on their arms, folded and joined behind the head. Between each of them emerge reeds.
