The group of two statues leaning against each other in the centre, on a stone promontory decorated with seaweed motifs, represents the mythological couple Acis and Galatea. The lovers are separated by a pedestal bearing a lion's head from which water flows into a shell-shaped basin below before falling into the pool; it is topped with a sculpted Medici vase. On either side, the pool is topped with balusters. In front of the main group, it houses two figures of tritons holding a pike, from which water can also flow. The straight and curved lines, concave and convex, alternate to give the whole an original and varied movement.
